Introduction
I decided to write my compare and contrast essay on Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo these artists were rivals towards each other. Leonardo was most famous for the Mona Lisa painting and Michelangelo was most famous for mainly for western art and he has created two of the most famous frescos in history. I am going to tell you their accomplishments and how they are alike and different.
Leonardo Da Vinci
Leonardo Da Vinci is most famous for his painting the Mona Lisa. He has been called the father of paleontology and ichnology and architecture and is very much considered one of the most famous artist of all time and is famous for the last supper. He had a very huge imagination. He made a lot of discoveries in anatomy, civil engineering, optics, and hydrodynamics but never published his findings.
Michelangelo
Michelangelo liked mainly western art. He was a sculptor, a painter, he did architecture, poetry, and engineering. He was the best artist of the 16th century. He created two very famous frescos which was the last judgement and ceiling of the sinistin chapel. He was also called the divine one. They both have the same ideas they both like poetry, architecture, and sculpting. They had different themes of what they did. Michelangelo had a low opinion of art but, they both were famous for the work they did so, even though they were both artist thriving for fame but, it was also for the art. Even, though Michelangelo had a low opinion of art it came from his imagination and heart.
