Leonardo Da Vinci: The Mona Lisa And The Last Supper

He is known to be one of the most famous artists still known to this day. He created images like no other that could not be replicated ever again. He is known world wide by people of all ages. Even being deceased for many generations, his legacy of being one of the greatest artists known to man still lives on with great strength. He was specifically known for creating portraits of people in a rather vintage look. One of the most famous paintings were created by him, the Mona Lisa and the Last Supper. Who is he? None other but Leonardo da Vinci. Da Vinci has always been an inspirational artist to me since I was a small child. When I first learned about him in 4th grade art class I was amazed and stunned by his art. Not only was da Vinci an artist, but he was a scientist, an engineer, a mathematician, etc. Da Vinci was truly an amazing man in general. This piece is located on the wall of the dining hall in the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan, Itlay (arthistory.about.com). This piece is known to be the most reproduced religious painting of all time and if Leonardo were still alive, he would be earning billions of dollars on this piece. Leonardo began working on this painting in 1495, and finished it in 1498 (arthistory.about.com). With Leonardo being known as a procrastinator with a tendency to leave his work unfinished sometimes, this was a surprising achievement for him. This piece is amazing and remarkable in every way. It displays one of the most religious times in history. With all of the people in the painting having amazing human-like qualities, it brought this painting to life.
