When you hear the name Leonardo da Vinci, you immediately think of a fascinating Renaissance artist, but before he emerged as a successful artist, he was just a man looking for someone to pay him to paint. Leonardo da Vinci was born in 1452 near Vinci, Italy. He was a much loved child and his father’s only son. Leonardo was a brilliant child, so brilliant that, “he used to baffle his master with the questions and problems he raised.” Pg.22. Since he had such an astute mind, he ended up being able to become an architect, sculptor, inventor and painter. Not only was Leonardo a genius, he was a risk taker and a perfectionist, which is why he ended up becoming one of the most successful Renaissance artist in the world.
