As the birds chime outside of her window and the warmth of the sun greets Leomary’s face she rises from her bed to prepare for another day. The laughter of her mother on the phone fills the house; Leomary overhears her mother recalling events from a lively quinceañera last night and a small smile escapes the young girl’s face. Even from the inside of her room she could smell the strong aroma of the Cuban coffee coating the kitchen. Café con Leche, “coffee with milk”, is standard for Breakfast in the Cuban-Nicaraguan household, and it’s also usually accompanied by a colorful bowl of fruits. This was just a typical day in the life of Leomary Llorente. Leomary Llorente is everyone’s favorite person to be with. She’s planning on pursuing a career as a dental hygienist. The Vero Beach High School Health Occupations of America (HOSA) program was what got her interesting in the medical field. This upcoming Spring, she will also be taking her certification exam to become a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant). The pulse of the patient slowly titters into a faint beat, losing its once exuberant presence. Dr.Grey stands by as the heart monitor reduces to a flat line, and Leomary releases a sigh watching the television go blank for a moment before shifting to commercials. Shows similar to Grey’s Anatomy, such as “House”, have always interested Leomary because they focused around a hospital setting, with doctors and medical related conflict. We may all have our passions, but the little things we enjoy doing for fun shape who we are as well. Releases on eyeshadow palettes and experimenting with new looks, are small hobbies of Leomary’s. She loves makeup and she’s always on the lookout for the best thing to use for her skin, and the newest video uploaded by her favorite beauty guru,
