During the First World War, Russia was really poor. They could barely afford bread. The poor Russians began to protest. Then some of the Soldiers fighting off the protesters. But some of the Cossacks were unreliable. Czar Nicholas II. (Russian monarch) Decided to shoot some of the protesters, which led to even more unrest with Russian Soldiers. Soldiers were treated badly, and on March, 1, they shot any Officer who didn’t want to rebel with them. They forced Russia's Czar, Nicholas II to step down as president of the cold, cold part of the world.
