Steinbeck in his story “Of Mice And Men” develops the theme that we as humans live in a society that we are all expect the same out of every one, even when they don’t have the same skill level as others. Lennie, a major character in the story, shows significant evidence throughout the whole story that he is a very unknowing about the world around him, because of that people often want or expect Lennie to be on the same page with them. In the beginning of the story we see Lennie and George nearby a river. George starts to complain how Lennie always forgets things, as Steinbeck writes “ The little man jerked down the brim of his hat and scowled at Lennie.”So You forgot awready, did you? I gotta tell you again do I? Jesus Christ!” George shows
