First, Lennie Small, an absent minded character. Consequently relies on his pal George Milton to direct him and help him in many situations. A Lot of times, Lennie will find himself in crazy unheard of situations leaving him to depend on Gorge or other to help him through. Throughout the story, readers find Gorge constantly time after time, yelling at Lennie for his absent minded mistakes. Lennie's fate is most times left in George's palms after messing. In a rough time period, Gorge is found barking at Lennie. “So you wasn’t gonna say a word. You was gonna leave your big flapper shut and leave me to do all the talkin’.
