A perfect example of this can be shown by how willing Lennie is to listen George’s commands. “....Why he'd do any damn thing I tol' him. If I tol' him to walk over a cliff, over he'd go” (40). George was telling Slim about a time when Lennie almost drowned because he listened to whatever, george would tell him to do. This can really bring out his innocent side because he does not realize what is both right and wrong in the world. A common factor of Lennie is how strong he is, “as strong as a bull” (22), George once said. Consequently, we able to see Lennie’s strength and innocence being portrayed when curley attempted to attack him. Curley is a man who is not in favor of men bigger than him, so when he thought Lennie was laughing at him he started to cause a scene. Furthermore, as Curley started punching him, Lennie responded by not doing anything back. However, George told him to fight back and said, "Get him Lennie. Don't let him do It” (62-63). Soon enough Lennie took control and started beating up curley and nearly broke his hand. Lennie was terrified and nervous after the entire fight and said, "I didn't want no trouble” (65). As a result, this shows how Lennie’s strength can exemplify his innocent personality, because by no mean did Lennie mean to harm
