In “Of Mice and Men” Lennie should not have been killed because George basically helped Curley by killing him, he was only a kid, and he could have escaped. Lennie should not have been killed, he had the brain of a kid. “Sure he’s just like a kid, there ain’t no more harm in him than a kid neither” (Steinbeck # ). George could have taught him to be careful, it was not his fault he was mentally not smart. Another reason that George should not have been killed was he was basically helping Curley. He killed Curley’s wife, so he was really mad at Lennie. “I’m gonna shoot the guts out of that bastard” (Steinbeck #96). Curley was mad at Lennie for killing his wife, so he wanted him dead.
