In the book Of Mice and Men written by John Steinbeck George was justified in his decision to end Lennie a few different ways. Lennie was the type of person that would just keep making the same mistakes. George would rather end Lennie’s life than have him go through brutal punishments. Curley was planning on shooting Lennie in the gut. George did not want Lennie to have to suffer the pain from that. He knew that Lennie would have been beaten or brutally killed. Ending someone's life is never a good thing, but Lennie would have continued to hurt others. George was expressing his feelings and showed that he cared deeply for Lennie.
