This source entitled Leland Stanford tells a chronological story of Stanford’s life from his birth in Watervliet, New York to his death at age 69 in Palo Alto, California which involved business, politics, and family. Starting from his father ,a hardworking innkeeper, Stanford was educated at Clinton Liberal Institute to set off his gain of acceptance to the New York State bar following an apprenticeship at a law firm which gave him the experience to start a law firm in Wisconsin. The law firm ultimately failed and burned down causing him to join his brother’s business as a manager in California and take some interest in a Quartz mine which produced a small fortune for himself and his wife.
