LEGO Canada
The Lego Group is a family-owned company with its base on Billund, Denmark, and it is well known for the creator of Lego brand toys. The company was established in the year 1932 by Ole Kirk Christiansen. The word Lego is actually derived from the Danish words "leg godt", which means "play well". The word "lego" means "I put together" in Latin, and "I connect" or "I tie" in Italian. In the first half of 2014 the Lego Group became the world's main toy company by market value, surpassing Mattel. Lego joined hands with the oil company Royal Dutch Shell in the 1960s, using the company's logo in some of its construction sets. This joint venture continued until the 1990s, and was renewed again in the year 2011.
