Lego land 2009

It was July 9th 2009 my 8th birthday, and at the time my life was consumed by my obsession with Lego sets, even though I was known to rage when I couldn’t figure out a difficult part. We were visiting family in California and it just so happened that it was my birthday. And my parents surprised me with a day in Lego land.

As we drive up to Lego Land, about every 500 feet there is a letter made out of Legos, W-E-L-C-O-M-E, it spells. After we got our ticket to park we found a spot towards the end of the lot, even though we could have parked closer, we got ready our bag ready to walk in. It was a sun bag filled with snacks, water, sunscreen, etc. But we left our swim suits in the car because we were going to grab them and change in a bathroom inside the park. As we walked in the park there was a tall cement wall, as tall as trumps, blocking the inside visitors from the outside world. The wall was tall but not tall enough so you could catch glimpses of the park inside. On our way In we passed the giant garbage that was full of old Lego creations that they threw out in the recent remodel. The line to get in the park was short because we got there near opening time, they scanned our tickets and we walked in. Behind us we saw a sign that read "WELCOME TO LEGO LAND" we had some one take a picture of us, then we grabbed a map, and went to the first ride.

"I'm going to go get my swim suit" I blurted assuming that some one heard me and I got up and

History is an amazing thing, for those who are alive to experience it, or at least watch it on the news. You get to tell your grandchildren about it and they will probably feign interest as they run off to play with their new electronic entertainment 7000 device. I will always remember where I was when a piece of american history took place, little more than a decade ago, my parents took me Disney World, a place where nothing ever goes wrong and everyone is always happy. The first couple days we were there, were mostly my parents trying to keep up with two toddlers desperately trying to make it to the next nap time. After two days of this, on a sunday morning, my baby brother and I, who isn’t much of a baby anymore at 6’3”, were…
