My favourite constellation is the Pegasus because it's myth/legend is very interesting and it is a very unique creature to me. The Pegasus lies in the Northern Hemisphere and it is the seventh largest constellation in the sky, occupying an area of 1121 square degrees. This constellation is made up with 9 stars--Scheat, Matar, Salm, Algenib and Markab. The brightest is Markab.

This constellation's name came from Pegasus, a white winged horse. The most famous/well-known Greek myth involving Pegasus is the one of Bellerophon, the hero who was sent by King Iobates of Lycia to kill the monster Chimera, that breathed fire and was destroying the land and killing innocent people. Bellerophon found Pegasus and tamed him using a golden bridle given

One night, on her 15th birthday, she had a strange, weird dream—Emerald happened to come across a beautiful creature when she was at this magical place. She met a Phoenix. A red and golden Phoenix. The Phoenix spoke to her with a silky, velvety voice: "You must find Pegasus, the winged horse within 5 days. Trust me, you shall need it. Here, use this," the Phoenix took out a silver and gold necklace, carved in the shape of Pegasus "Wear this and it will appear," With that, the bird was gone before Emerald could ask anything. Then, she woke up. At first she though that it was just a plain old dream, but suddenly realised that the carved necklace was in her hand. She studied and admired it for a moment before putting it on. As soon as it was on her neck, there was a streak of light, but when the light was gone, in its place there was the Pegasus. The creature just stood there, staring at Emerald with its large eyes that's full of life. Emerald slowly took a step towards it, Pegasus still remained calm, then, Emerald hopped on cautiously and carefully. Just as she sat, the Pegasus spread its huge, beautiful wings and took off. Legend says that Emerald and Pegasus went on many adventures, and many believed that it was real. Because many have seen a winged-horse flying in the night and carrying a person with

In Eudora Welty's “A Worn Path” she chooses for the narrator to take a non-participating role to characterize Phoenix Jackson, who is the protagonist. The characterization helps show the symbolism behind “bird-like” references to Phoenix and other ideas in the story. It also helps bring out traits in Phoenix especially the fact of how she is obstinate. Throughout the story bird references are very common.…

Ponyboy is at the risk of getting killed, arrested, and hurt while he is with Darry. Ponyboy should be put in the system because there he would have a less risk of getting jailed, lung cancer, fighting, and so much more. With Ponyboy going to the system he will have better health and he will have a lower chance of getting lung cancer. People would stay with Darry but that is not such a great idea. If he stays with him Ponyboy will be at bigger risk of getting jailed, getting in fights, and he won’t have as big of a chance of getting brain damage.…

Gemini was one of the 48 constellations described by Ptolemy in the second century AD, amd it has been listed as one of the 88 modern constellations today. Gemini translates from Latin, literally meaning 'The Twins' because of its shape, which resembles two humans holding hands. The two brightest stars, representing the two 'heads' are named Castor and Pollux after the Greek mythological twins. The creation tale of Gemini is an interesting one.…

The creation story of the Cetus constellation stems from Greek mythology. In this story the Cetus is called a Sea Monster and not a whale.…
