Everyone is responsible for their behavior. However, some people think adults have to be responsible for their children's behavior and other people thinks children do. In the play Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet die with being responsible for their behavior. According to the article "Should Parents Be Legally Responsible For Children's Serious Crimes?" by Nathan Siegel, two teenagers cyberbullied a girl and their parents got punished by letting their children use social media as a weapon. According to the article "Truancy Rates on the Rise Could Result in Criminal Charges for Parents" by Tracy Rose, the author says that it is the parents' responsibility to send their children to school. Rebecca Sedwick suicides because she was cyberbullied by her two classmates. In the court of this incident, much of the blame landed on the two classmates' parents. The criminal defense lawyer at O'Mara Law Group said: "Parents who let their children use social media as a weapon need to wake the hell up" (Siegel 9). They blamed on perpetrator's parents because parents didn't take care of their children. Teenagers are grown enough to know what they have to do but sometimes they might not know why it is the wrong thing to do. This article talks about the growing rate of truancy of students in school. These students generally have poor grades and have a hard time catching the works they missed. The author says, "The law also states that parents who fail to send a child to school can result in a misdemeanor, which is punishable by two to 90 days in jail or faced with fines between five and $50." (Rose 8). The author is saying that parents are responsible for their child who has a number of unexcused absences. The purpose of punishing parents are to tell them the importance of school and make their children attend school. Teenagers have to go to school because they need to learn lots of new information and be ready for the real world that they are going to face.
Parents are in charge of their children's behavior. Romeo and Juliet shows what happened if adults don't care about their children. The article "Should Parents Be Legally Responsible For Children's Serious Crimes?" tells readers that teenagers can't hold the big problems they face. The article "Truancy Rates on the Rise Could Result in Criminal Charges for Parents" express that parents will get punished if they don't send their children school. Teenagers are not grown enough to be complete adults. This is why they need help from parents and it is parents' responsibility for teaching them
