Legally Blonde Research Paper

“Legally Blonde” plays an enormous role in how Americans don’t look at lawyers as heroes. Elle Woods is a typical dumb blonde who only cares about her hair, makeup, what she wears, and her longtime boyfriend Warner. No one ever would of thought she would have been a lawyer. As we watched how Elle maneuvered her way through law school, we got the picture that she didn’t have the knowledge or the expertise to win her case. In fact, law school didn’t even help Elle; it was the intelligence that she already knew to succeed. She found the courage to never give up and too use her passion to make decisions. As an audience, we would consider Elle as a bad person because she didn’t know a single thing about law and she was constantly making a fool out

While watching this movie I was really paying attention to the way the different attorney’s acted when approaching the case at hand. The first attorney I’ll start with is Michael Clayton, though Clayton isn’t on the litigation team he plays a key role in the film. Clayton is what is known as a “fixer” in the world of law, his job is to clean up the messes for the law firm he works for. Throughout the movie Clayton refers himself as the “janitor,” since he has to make sure that Arthur Edens stays on track with his current case. Now since I’ve already mentioned him, next we will talk about Arthur Edens, Edens is a senior litigation partner in the film as well as a good friend of Clayton and Marty Bach.…

The construction of images meant to control black and white women, were crucial to the continued success of slavery. Of these, the Mammy stereotype acted as a foundation crucial to the success of the White family and oppression of the Black family—the Black woman in particular. Though not the only controlling image constructed to maintain black female subordination, the mammy is one of the most desirable images of black women among white people. The Mammy myth remains an important controlling image for the White majority because this image, this role is the only one in which the black woman willingly acquiesces to her own inferiority and white supremacy. As a Black woman who accepted and enjoyed her own inferiority, whites revered the Mammy.…

President-elect Donald Trump is already getting so much done so seamlessly that he’s conveying the attitude of Reese Witherspoon’s character, Elle Woods in “Legally Blonde,” when she informs a skeptic that she’s been admitted to Harvard Law School: “What, like it’s hard?” We have been told over and over again — by the bipartisan ruling class that protected its power by shrouding issues and process in mystery — that certain problems were simply too vexing to solve. They struggled with them every day, they said, but they were intractable. We’d just have to live with the status quo, they warned, and woe be to those who tried to change it.…

To most, Anita Loos’ Gentlemen Prefer Blondes would not be considered a feminist text. The main characters, Lorelei and Dorothy, seem to be characterized as typical women in the 1920’s. Lorelei can almost be seen as a superficial character who will only marry a man for his money, and Dorothy, is the type of girl who would settle for any attractive man. However, feminism is defined as the belief of equality of the genders, that both men and women should have the same rights and equal opportunities. As the story progresses, and as we learn more about the characters, the story does end up having a feministic theme.…

Legally Blonde: A Meditation of Stereotypes Gender stereotypes are simplistic. Stereotypes do not bother to take account of the thoughts, behaviors, and individual desires of a person, merely taking interest whether or not the person is male, female, or nonbinary. In film franchises, such as Legally Blonde, writers and directors insist on propagating stereotypes despite the ongoing evolvement of archetypes in current society. Although in the final moments of the flick, Elle Woods surpasses such stereotypes and displays aberration, the number of cliches in the movie serves to reinforce negative gender identities.…
