In United States, the drug laws are doing more harm to its citizens than helping. Legalizing cannabis could benefit the country in many ways. Some ways it could help include; the economy, medicinal purposes, reduce drug problems, and lower crime. To start off, cannabis has been around for thousands of years, and has been consumed all throughout history. With all the new technology in the medical field. New discoveries are always being made. It’s also costing the country a lot of money. Legalizing Marijuana will just increase the drug problems and cost more money in rehabilitation to help the patients getting hooked on it. We need to end the legislation of drugs for the younger generation. The use among teens has been increasing since the legalization of cannabis. It decreases learning, judgment and motor skills and diminishes initiative and motivation. Clinical studies show that smoking marijuana leads to cognitive delays that can last up to 24 hours, causing reductions in one’s ability to concentrate, consolidate memories and develop verbal and mathematical abilities.” Teens need to gaining all the knowledge they can get during they youth years. If teens are destroying their learning functions, could affect them in going to college and having a future. The youth is the future of this country and we solely depend on them to make the world better.
