Hunting has been around since the dawn of time. Having transformed from a vital means of survival to a sporting activity, people have long debated both sides of the issue. While some view hunting as a righteous action, others despise the deed. The argument for hunting as an admirable or distasteful act is still relevant to present society. As seen in the writings of Rick Bass and Robert G. Schreiner through many comparisons and differences, imagery, deeper meanings, stances, and views, the debate of hunting is a controversial matter.…

Without big game hunting, there would be an overpopulation of animals, such as the deer. Steve West claims, “Hunters are realists who understand that an exotic or endangered animal is more likely to be protected from extinction if they are assigned a financial value”(Article 1).This shows that hunters actually control the population by putting a price on the head of the animal. This further prohibits anyone and everyone from hunting the endangered animals. Some may argue that big game trophy hunting kills more animals than it saves, however with the financial…

Hunting is viewed as a sport by many, but a game by few. It is a measurement of the wits of man versus the instincts of animals, and often times the mental strength of humans overcomes the physical strength of animals. In the past hunting was used as a means for survival, but today you can drive to the nearest grocery store and purchase your meat faster than you can load your rifle. Therefore, hunting is used more for recreational enjoyment than necessity. Many people in today's society use hunting as a form of entertainment, while others condone, but do not partake in this sport due to their appreciation of the animal kingdom.…

then those who eat farm raised meat that was frozen at the store. There are many reasons why hunting is a good thing rather than a bad. First of all in case of an emergency like global warming, zombie apocalypse, or anything that could possibly happen, hunters would survive longer because of the skills they have learned. It is a fact that when lost in the woods someone who can hunt will survive for at least a week more than someone who lives off plants they find. There are many other facts but one I like the most is that people who have the skill to hunt are better at defending themselves, so in chance of world war the 7% of people who hunt will be able to provide safety for their families.…
