Imagine if you wanted to have a procedure that would help you tremendously as well as many other people, but it is not common procedure in hospitals and looked down upon by others. You want to go through with this procedure, but is denied because the government denies you the freedom of choice over your own body. No one wants to feel like they don't have a choice especially when it comes to their health and own body. This is what women feel like when they are denied the freedom of choice over their body. A women should be able to have the option on whether or not to have an abortion. There are many factors when it comes to why abortion should be allowed like even if the government makes abortion illegal, it will not go away, also abortions …show more content…
The government in the near future may ban abortions because ¨seventy-seven percent of anti-abortion leaders are men. 100% of them will never be pregnant¨(Planned Parenthood, Thoughtcatalog.com). If the government does ban abortions, it will not stop people from having abortions, it will just enhance the number of people risking their lives by having unsafe abortions. Today 13% of women, who have unsafe abortions, die worldwide. That is 68,000 women annually (ncbi.nlm.nih.gov). Making abortions illegal will just make abortions less safe and the percentages for women who die from unsafe abortions and have long-term complications will rise. If the government did care about women's health then they would have a safe place at hospitals for women to go with experienced doctors in that area to get an abortion. In fact, their are few hospitals they do have doctors that perform the task, people usually have to go a special doctor's office like the organization Planned Parenthood, that performs just abortions. Some places other than American, women have to go through the procedure that they know might have many complications in the future or it may even kill them, but they feel this decision is the right thing to do despite all the odds. Also no women is going to have an abortion unless they feel it is completely necessary and they almost always think before they make the life-changing decision. If the government ever decides to make abortion illegal then they should know women will keep having abortions, just unsafely. Plus the government shouldńt be deciding on what we are allowed to do with our bodies. Also, if a women knows something is going to go wrong during their pregnancy that will affect both the baby and themselves, they have the right to get an abortion to save the baby from a life full of complications. By taking away the choice to have an abortion from rape victims, you are just telling them that they are being forced, again, into something they do not want to do and they have to be reminded for 9 whole months, approximately 270 days, of an instance that will scar them for the rest of their
