Currently the only way to legally receive organs is through organ transplantation. The process proves itself to be drastically slow. According to the United Network of Organ Sharing, there is a national computer system with strict standards in place to make sure ethical and fair distribution of organs. Organs are located within our bodies, making them our property as well. There is no law that specifically prohibits the selling of a person’s own property. Gerald Dworkin makes a point that, people accept the legitimacy of the sale of blood, semen, ova, hair, and tissue, which means they accept the idea that individuals have the right to dispose of their organs and other bodily parts as they choose to do so.
