At the end of the day, the decision is a personal one. We are ready to accept it, as long as the legislation is clear and robust enough to limit the chances of abuse. Nonetheless, we continue to believe that there is always dignity in life and it will certainly not be found in the choice of death. It is not our decision and it should certainly not be the physicians who give the final word in our life.
Concrete solutions could be to have the law as strict as possible, to only allow patients who have no way out of their illness. It could also be to put more resources in the palliative care so the end of life is more bearable, or make it so the person in charge of administrating the lethal treatment is not a doctor nor a nurse, so they can concentrate fully on their job of healing people the best they can.
