The illegality of abortion for kids under 18 forces them to go to their parents. As many kids do not want to reveal to their parents that they are pregnant, they seek other dangerous methods. It is already unsafe to have a child at such a young age, as they are at high risk for pregnancy complications such as anemia.Young women having unsafe abortions is even more risky. Another issue with the illegality of abortions and how in most states if one wanted to get an abortion they need to get a wavier signed with their parents is the negative outcome of a daughter telling her parents. In most situations, many do not want to consult their parents as many come from families where such an announcement would only exacerbate an already dysfunctional family situation, causing even more harm in the pregnant woman 's life. It also allowed me to bring a new idea to my essay as teens are faced with challenges with safety that other age groups don 't face. The idea of the law system, and health not allowing an individual to get access to a safe, affordable abortion was more thoroughly expressed in my essay using this article.
