Why Is Abortion Important In The World

Abortion is a very controversial topic in the world. In America, after long debation, abortion is legal with a few restrictions. However, in some places in the world it is still illegal. Not having the right to abortion suppresses women’s rights of choice. Without this option, some women are forced to take care of a baby despite many conflicts. Numerous amounts of teens have unintended pregnancies as well. Obtaining the right contraceptives as a teen can be difficult if one has strict religious parents or live in low income families. Additionally, it is shown that most teens who live in low income families are not aware of the repercussions of sexual intercourse. However, a quote by “My News 24” states, “Motherhood should not be a punishment for having sex.” Teens should not be obligated to take on such a commitment they are not capable of understanding since they are kids themselves. Also, teen pregnancies in low income communities increases the amount of high school dropouts, preventing teens from gaining basic education. Children are inspired by their parents, so if they their parents only received high school education then they will think it is okay for them to do the same. This results in ignorance towards sexual intercourse and the cycle repeats.
