Famous philosopher Plato once said, “Never discourage anyone... who continually makes progress, no matter how slow” (Moncur). Plato believes that you should never discourage someone which also correlates with some of his other philosophies. Although he is known for his great thinkings, there is a lot to learn about his characteristics. Plato and I share many positive attributes such as being leaders and helping others. My research says that “Plato devoted his life to one goal: helping people to reach a state of what he termed Eudaimonia.” Eudaimonia means happiness and fulfillment (The School of Life). I am very similar to that because I am always willing to help others find their happiness and be the best person they can be. Another article states that “ ... Plato was probably taught by some of Athens' finest educators” (“Plato Biography”). I go to Oakwood Junior High which is a highly ranked public school. Therefore, I would say that I get taught by great educators. My research also says that “After Socrates's death, Plato traveled for 12 years throughout the Mediterranean region, studying mathematics with the Pythagoreans in Italy…” (“Plato Biography”). Clearly this means that Plato was into math and I also enjoy studying math. Plato was a strong leader. He created the Academy which gave others a great opportunity for an amazing education ( Brickhouse and Smith). I am a good leader too because I was an elected member of the Oakwood Junior High Student Council and step up when someone is in need. I am very happy to say that I share many positive attributes with a such an influential philosopher, but we have differences
