Before beginning my essay, I would like to thank the Legacy Foundation for giving me, and thousands of other students, this opportunity to be awarded the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship. This is a very noble deed which can improve a student’s life.

In one’s lifetime, one has many goals they wish to achieve. For some, it may be as small as saving money to purchase an item, such as a phone, laptop, car, etc. For others, it may be a long-term goal, such as growing up and getting married and having kids. No matter how small or large a goal is, it is still a goal.
