Through the various organizations that I joined such as Legacy and Business Council, I was able to have direct interactions with the College of Business. From hosting events such as Legacy’s Business Week carnival day, to Business Council’s Impact day, I was given opportunities to explore the inter-workings of the College of Business. Legacy and Business Council establish great emphasis on service and giving back to the community. Being heavily involved with the two organizations, such as taking a leadership position in Business Council, I have been able to understand many different interests and ultimately have developed a passion for philanthropy. One of College of Business’s greatest aspects is its mission to prepare future leaders of business, education and public service around the world. In the long run, to create distinctive programs in order to have a progressive impact on the world. This ties in strongly with my passion for service. I am adamant in stating that by capitalizing on the plethora of resources that the College of Business provides for its students, I am able to pursue this philanthropic driven passion at full capacity.
The leadership positions that I have been placed in has allowed me to understand that the ultimate purpose for leading to me is to positively affect those who are around me. I have been able to have a direct influence on the community of Champaign-Urbana through volunteering through Legacy and Business Council. However, I believe that with the help of the College of Business, I am able to extend my reach even further. The College of Business also will allow me to refine my knowledge and grow my experiences in order to apply these skills in the business
