A death, a life of a teammate, a twitter account, and a note . These are the points that this case revolve around.
First the death. On May 15th 2014 Lee Valdez and Sam Spencer were sent to investigate a car theft. While Spencer stayed Valdez went to look for suspects down the east block Lotus Avenue[Gesture to lotus avenue]. Valdez found a suspect, Casey Barns, and immediately began to choke him. Meanwhile Jamie Hayes went to outside to find that Casey was getting choked, so he grabbed the nearest thing to defend himself, a baseball bat. Jamie then ran over to Valdez screamed for Valdez to stop, so Jamie closed his eyes and swung. The bat hit Valdez in the head, and he died from the trauma 2 weeks later.
