Lee Robert Moore Analysis

I chose an article that was about a Secret Service Officer named Lee Robert Moore, who is being charged with attempted transfer of obscene material to a minor and faces a state court preliminary hearing Friday on two counts of sexual solicitation of a child under 18 and one count of providing obscene material to a person under 18. The federal complaint stated, “Moore often engaged in online chats while on duty, once asking the undercover officer to send him something “exciting” one day when he was checking IDs for building entrance and complained that 'work sucks'”(Federal Complaint). He really wasn't paying attention to the real job at hand; all he was focused on was having communication with a fourteen year old girl. He should have already known that he was going to have to face severe consequences for his actions. I feel as though Moore had a motive throughout the entire situation. He likes to engage with fourteen year old females sexually, which is terribly wrong. I know of someone who was on social media site called KIK and they were talking back and forth with another person. They really didn't know the person too well and the conversation between the both of them was getting deeper. It got to the point where explicit pictures were being sent back and forth. From the pictures I were shown, I could tell that the girl looked very young, but informed him that she was older than what she looked like in the picture. I didn't believe it from the beginning, but I could tell that he was really into her. Next thing I know, I received a phone call stating that the police came to arrest him because they found out he sexually solicited a minor.
