Oswald’s extended stay in Russia when combined with his poorer quality of life, his lack of education, his desires to achieve more in life, and most importantly Moscow’s reluctance to allow Oswald to reside in the country could have pushed Oswald to make connections with other impoverished and deprived Russian individuals in the hopes of earning more money, or becoming part of something bigger than just himself and his small family, possibly linking Oswald to an underground network of Russian criminals. Shortly before the assassination of John F. Kennedy, Oswald’s desperate desire to leave the US in hopes of rekindling some sort of purpose back in the Soviet Union was stifled by the Russian embassy’s refusal to allow Oswald back. This is important because it caused Oswald to become desperate and profoundly confused with where to go or what to do, and it incited his desire achieve his visions of prosperity and recognition through drastic measures since it became his last disposable option. Oswald was born October 18th, I 939 into a fatherless home with a single mother who often neglected Oswald and expressed her resentment of her son throughout his life. Oswald dropped out of school, was discharged from the military, was hopeless occupationally and financially in both the US and USSR, and failed at being a good husband or father to his family. The cultivation of these factors led to a desperate young man who wanted to be accepted and important. Oswald's desire to be noticed as an outsider, such as when he was in the military and openly communist, not only supports his shocking assassination of Kennedy, but it also helps to exile him from others and prevent him from making many connections with people. His goals to be different worked against his unfortunate upbringing, and made him into a lonely figure who often worked alone, and Oswald’s wife was the only one that truly knew him. When Oswald decided to look into becoming a political assassin through killing staunch anticommunist General Walker, Lee did his planning by himself, and bought his guns under an alias.
