Lee Alexander McQueen was a British fashion designer who was born on March 17,1969 in Lewisham, London, to Ronald, who was a cab driver and Joyce McQueen, who taught as a social science teacher. He was the youngest of six children. He attended Carpenters Road Primary School and started creating designs for his three sisters to wear at a young age. At a young age e identified himself as a homosexual but did not come out to the public until he was 18. He was teased a lot as a child by students. But he did not let that stop him. He then became determined to become a fashion designer. Alexander McQueen was the chief designer of Louis Vuitton Givenchy before he created his own clothing in 2001.
McQueen went back to London and applied to Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design, to work as a pattern cutter tutor. Because he had so much talent in his portfolio he was convinced by

Each runway walk came with a story from different arts, music, or films from people who influenced him. There is a famous story about when he was watching the show called “Friends” and Joey was wearing a green sweater which inspired one of the collections that he made. This just proves of how much his inspirations literally came from everywhere. Usually his creativeness came from his fittings that he did on mannequins. So, this meant that fitting for McQueen were pretty much crucial since his creations were mainly made up during fittings. Most of his collections were based off things that reflected his Scottish heritage. It is very known that he truly cares about his heritage and it means a lot to him. The Highland Rape collection very much depicts his how important his national pride is.
Alexander McQueen's last presentation on a fashion show was in Plato's Atlantis, which was Paris Fashion Week on October 6, 2009. This Spring/Summer 2010 collection featured 46 full
