The increasing cost of energy and continuous depletion of energy reserves has prompted the people and governments to seek new and innovative way to minimize the consumption and maximize the utilization of the available energy. In line with this understanding came the invention of the light emitting diodes technology. Originally the light emitting diodes denoted as "LED" produced low light concentrations and were commonly used as indicators in electrical circuits and electrical appliances. This has however changed once they were discovered that they could produce more light and save on energy. The current LED appliances use a principle called electroluminescent.

LED lights are produced in various types such as LED tubes, LED ceiling lights, LED flood lights, LED Down lights and even LED spotlights. The most important feature promoting the use of LED technology is the cost effectiveness associated with their use and the energy efficiency. In comparison with other bulb technologies, LED floodlight and LED spotlights utilize over 80% of electrical energy supplied to them with 20% lost as heat while it is
