Every kid who plays a sport, has someone they idolize and eventually they will want to be just as successful or maybe even more successful than that person. But what makes that person successful? Is it the money? Is it the fame? Is it the flashy clothes and cars? Well, while all of that comes along with the success, it does not make an athlete successful. What makes an athlete successful is their talent, but also their determination, desire and their leadership qualities.
The God given talent an athlete possesses is a key component to the amount of success they will achieve throughout their career. Talent is what separates a good player from a bench player. LeBron James can be considered as the best professional basketball player of recent years. He is a 3x NBA Champion along with 3 NBA Finals MVP awards, 4x Most Valuable Player, 12x NBA

This essay shows that, athletes must be dedicated to achieving their goal by committing to their craft. Becoming a great athlete is not an easy task, you must sacrifice to get what you want. Whether it be time spent partying, hanging out with friends and in some instances, even time spent away from family. Elite athletes also find time to train hard, work on their skill and do whatever else is necessary. Even though LeBron is the best in the world at what he does, he still follows a pretty intense training schedule. “LeBron James's workout plan is about what you'd expect from the most precocious superstar in sports—a blend of cutting-edge training techniques and classic muscle-building exercises” (menshealth.com). If you work hard to perfect your craft, you will be impressed of your end result. “I can finally say that I'm a champion, and I did it the right way. I didn't shortcut anything.
