Lebron James: My Sports Hero

Improved Essays
My sports hero is LeBron James from the Cleveland Cavaliers. Ever since I grew up he has been my favorite player in any sports I just saw him playing the Nuggets one time and knew he was my favorite player. A lot of people think I like LeBron James just because he’s good its more than him being the best it’s his leadership and work ethic. He is always in the gym striving to be the best player that has ever played the game of basketball. His workouts are insane and he is still putting up above average numbers at the age of 32 which is insane. As a 32 year old man LeBron is averaging 25.9ppg, 8.0rpg, and 8.9apg those numbers are the reason why he is the talk for mvp this year. At this age his numbers are better than Michael Jordan’s which helps …show more content…
Most people just think if you’re the best player on the team you take the last shot always, people with this logic are dumb because sometimes you just got to make the right play. Was Michael Jordan clutch yes but did he always make the right play or did he take circus shot’s a lot of the time? Kobe Bryant did he make the right play ever, I didn’t think so he would jack up shots with three defenders on him and that’s why nobody would want to play on his team for more than they had to. Another reason I like LeBron is the energy he brings to the court whenever he checks in. He is known for his big chase down blocks and mesmerizing dunks. Last year in the finals Andre Igoudola was running down the court had a easy layup but LeBron showed great energy and hustle and blocked to set up a victory for the game and to in the NBA finals. In almost every game you can almost count on LeBron to swat some one or too run down the court for an amazing slam. One of the big reasons I like his as well for his offense is defense. Most star players like Carmelo Anthony , and James Harden don’t feel the need to play defense for their team because their offense which I believe is also wrong. Lebrun play great defense from his swats to his 1 on 1 defense it is just …show more content…
For about 32 minutes a game he is out there hustling and making plays left and right for his team just to get victories. He is 32 and still averaging the most minutes played per game which proves to me that he doesn’t want to be on the bench he wants to be out there for his team. I think for his age and what he is capable of doing is just beyond expectations and he is just a freak athlete. Everyone in my family hates LeBron which is funny because everybody hates him because he is good. Everyone hates him because he went to a different team to win rings but came back and won one for his home town but yet he is a trader. Was I a little upset when he left Cleveland yes but did I hate him for it no. I respected his decision to go out and win a ring with one team but I gained even more respect when he came back and did it for his home town team. Another reason why I like LeBron is because he receives a lot of hate ever since he left the Cavs the first time but he never let that get to him, he went on to win two titles with the Heat . He ignored the hate again when he came back to Cleveland for the first time and didn’t win a ring did he let that stop him no he just went out and won the next

Everyone has a hero, either it's their mom, dad, family member, or whoever it maybe. A hero to me is someone who drives you to do better and that can be anyone. Beowulf was the anglo- saxon’s hero because he was believed to be the man and the most powerful during his reign, my hero isn’t even a powerful fighter but he as strong and considered a king and that is Lebron James. To me he is a leader, very reliable, and will be unforgettable, and Beowulf and Lebron has a lot of similar traits During the Anglo-saxon period Beowulf was the king of the Geats. “I shall fulfill that purpose, prove myself with a proud deed or meet my death here in the mead-hall."…
