Standing on the stage, victoriously, LeBron James hoisted up the Larry
O’Brien trophy for winning the NBA Finals after a long, stressful season. Ever since first following the sport when I was a little kid, LeBron has been of the best and most influential superstars in the league. In 2003, LeBron was drafted straight out of high school by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the first overall pick. Almost immediately, he was an impact player, winning rookie of the year as the first of many awards and accomplishments. In 2010, he joined my hometown team, the Miami Heat, where he won his first two NBA Finals Championships, the most coveted of all accomplishments. Not only is he a brilliant leader on the court, but also off the court because he sets the right example for his teammates by guiding them away from trouble and keeping them focused on their game. Furthermore, he is one of the most unselfish players in the league, always striving to make sure his teammates are always involved in the action on the court. From 2010 until this day, his unparalleled leadership on the court has propelled him and his team to, an incredible, six NBA Finals appearances in a row, with three of those culminating in championship victories. His knowledge of the game and ability to run an offense is among the best in the league. Rarely will anyone ever see LeBron perform an unintelligent play during a game, because he always tends to make the right decisions. He is often the one bringing the ball up the court and running the offense, a role reserved, primarily, for the point guard on the team. This flexibility with his roles means he can play any position necessary to put his team in the right position to succeed.
