PRE-VISUALIZATION
Ntando has lost his brother Lebo to suicide, he is question how and why God would let such a thing happen, this leads him to loose his faith in God and go on a journey of grief and self-destruct.
The mood is sad.
The scene of lebo’s funeral at church further mode depicts the sad mood of the film, its mainly preaching, few intervals of dialogue and I plan to add slow tempo funeral gospel song to make the bring out the sad mood.
Through dialogue we see sadness in the voice of the characters, the main dialogues happens between Ntando and his girlfriend Rozille and Between Ntando and Lebo his departed brother who appears to him as a sprit. This further reveals the mood of the film

However for the few intervals of dialogue and atmosphere of the church am going to be recording with the boom microphone.
For dialogue my microphone choice is the shot gun microphone, because it’s a directional microphone and great at picking up sound from its front end so placing it close to the actor will ensure good quality sound.
“The shotgun microphone is the go to microphone for recording dialogue” (Light film school.com)

BOOMING TECHINQUES
Using a boom to record sound is proved to be the best way to record sound for film for sound comes off natural.

Create audio tracks each assigned to a particular voice, because separating tracks will allow me to easily tweak each component.
Edit to smooth out production, refining the volumes, stereo and reverb to shape the audio being careful though to cover every possible option the director might want to avoid changes after the final mix.
LIMITATIONS
The challenge is the thinking directors have that sound is just sound effects and music so this makes sound design given only second place in film planning after every other craft.
Reading Randy Thom’s article on sound design he challenges this thinking by saying “That the way for a filmmaker to take advantage of is not simply to make it possible for a composer to fabricate sounds but rather design the film with sound in mind to allow sound’s contribution to influence creative decisions in other crafts”
“Only when each craft influences every craft does the movie begin to take a life of its

The editing assignment was very interesting that. Our group’s goal was to make the edit as similar as possible to the original. I thought it would be the easiest way to edit, but it turned out to be much harder to do. Because of our choice, we had to constantly replay and refer to the clip and the script. I do feel like it was a shame that we did not get to use the master shot, and I think we can do a lot more if we choose to use the master shot.…

Comparison Paper: Citizen Kane and Pulp Fiction Influences on film making in today’s industry occur often, with new skills and techniques being implemented by daring producers and directors and are typically recycled by the next movie premiere. However, being boldly different is how particular film makers succeed, inspire future artists, and even make their mark on the industry, such as Orson Welles and Quentin Tarantino. Both film makers have been notarized for their accomplishments with not only the use of typical film elements like mise-en-scene and all that encompass cinematography, but also how their films are depicted in terms of narration. The use of flashbacks, nonlinear storylines, and character revelations through dialogue are all…
