Learnsmart Reflection

Decent Essays
I feel that the LearnSmart is a very important resource to me, my success in this class and as I take the rest of my courses toward my degree. By taking the practice quizzes in LearnSmart, it is a great way to test your knowledge of the subject matter you were assigned. It was good for me to see the topics that I knew well and to see the subjects that I was not as familiar with immediately after answering the questions. I was then able to back and re-read the material until I was comfortable enough to take the practice quiz again.
After reviewing My Success Plan last week, I knew how I liked to learn and study and what areas I needed to improve. It was important for me to access the on-line book right away and get familiar navigating through

The Roman church had not yet been visited and had no New Testament because the gospels were not yet being circulated in their final written form. Thus, this letter may well have been the first piece of Christian literature the Roman believers had seen. In Roman culture to choose to be a servant was unthinkable. Paul was a Roman citizen but chose to be entirely dependent on and abide in Christ Jesus (Romans 1:1). Paul’s impact was made known because of his citizenship and willingness to serve and obey Jesus…

The book is very information dense; every sentence has a lot of information. The actual physical book is a diagnostic manual and I found that intimidating. I have tackled new things in the past, and feel sure I can overcome my apprehension, but with this only being my 4th class in my coursework. The fleshing out of my studies into a career is more apparent. I still have a lot of growth ahead of me and becoming very familiar with this manual will be part of that…

Throughout this semester, we have written two major papers that really display my capabilities as a writer. By evaluating these two pieces with the learning outcomes established at the beginning of this semester, outcomes 1, 2, and 3 are most applicable when gauging my progress in this course. Learning outcome 1 is, "Demonstrate academic research and writing skills in essays and projects to participate in a scholarly conversation" Learning outcome 2 is, "Demonstrate critical reading through a knowledge of the forms and functions of a variety of texts" Learning Outcome 3 is, "Follow a research writing process that includes developing a topic, locating and evaluating sources (including peer-reviewed), composing in response to those sources, and revising and reflecting on that process;" Each of these outcomes I believe I have met by using them as goals when writing in and out of class. In my essay "Survivors and their Children: Examining the Holocaust's Multigenerational Effects" I discuss the impact the Holocaust has on those who survived it and on their children.…

This course has taught me how to be more self-aware about what type of counselor I want to be and focus more on my values and accomplish what is important for me. This course also taught me how to be more flexible. Having a full-time job working 40 or more hours a week plus school; it was hard and still is, but having flexibility when I become a Mental Health Counselor will help me because I must be flexible to meet the client needs so we can establish a client/counselor relationship and maintain that relationship. Through this course, I learned about my professional identity, how to bring my personal values into Mental Health Counseling without losing myself, yet help the client without pushing my values on that person.…

Learning can be interpreted in many ways to different individuals, although to me learning is about gaining knowledge and embracing every experience encountered and linking it to any task. Also I would explain that being open minded is a strong attribute to apply during the learning process. During my week one I stated that learning is to open and broaden an individual’s mind on subjects to gain knowledge or skills, and I’ve grown to realize its more than that. People can learn using different methods and be more responsive to one rather than the other. I am a Strong-Willed learner.…

The lessons the workshop taught the children that went through it was invaluable. We hope that we as adults show our children learn from us the mistakes of the past and treat people equally. A lot of times unfortunately people have stigmata’s either put on them by society because of how they look or they put them on themselves and people treat them differently. The lessons that this workshop teaches are lessons that everyone should have. You can spend our entire life trying to instill the values in your children that this class does in two days, and I want my children to be kind to people as we all do; I do not want them to ALIENATE someone because they are not the same as them, different ETHNITICIY or part of a MINORITY GROUP.…

The concepts delivered throughout the management problem-solving course have provided me with valuable simulated real-life experiences which can be applied in my everyday work life as a HR Administrator with aspirations of progressing my career. The course delivery was such that as a student, I was able to use my existing knowledge and skills, in addition to that of my peers, to analyse and explore complex organisational problems. This course has challenged the way I think and deepened my understanding of the problem-solving process, which has enabled me to perceive issues from new perspectives, I once would not have considered.
