Importance Of Personal Learning Style

When it comes to learning, I am a visual learner. Meaning, everything that I learn has to be seen in order for me to understand. There are two different other learning styles that would not fit into my learning style. Auditory would not fit into my learning style; I need to able to see the material presented to me and this calls for audio material. Kinesthetic is too disruptive and I would not grasp the concept of the information and with too much going on it would distract me. I would lose interest very fast and not understand what I need to know. With knowing my learning style this will help me to gain full control over the way my assignments are done. When it comes to my learning style sometimes, I need more time to complete assignments. I tend to go back over information several times before the assignment is complete to submit. This enables me to get a full understanding of what the assignment is on and what I need to cover. When it comes to my work place my learning style fits my profession. I am able to create graphs for Sales, to explain to my Manager on what my plans are for the quarter. I also, am good at memorizing numbers needed for reports that is very useful when it comes to the hotel business. I am in charge of all the training of new employees so, I do get to use hands on with them, this makes training easier because it is hands on and they will have a better understanding. These give the employee time to fully intake and learn what it they need to know to be successful in their position. Visual Learners seem to seek information that they can see or a demonstration relating to the topic (Brown, 2013). With being a visual learner I can memorize a lot of information and if shown something once, I can pick up on it really fast. This helps as long as I can visualize what is presented to me. I am also, a hands on learner this is one my strengths when learning new things. I have learned to break down assignments and to make sure that I allow myself enough time to complete assignments. I also, find it easier to read all material first and then go forward with the task. When in the work place to complete assignments for work I feel I am more comfortable with notes, graphs and charts. I prefer hand on but everything is not required for hands on. There are a lot of things that are data entry and required your undivided attention, especially when you are dealing with others finances. Work can be accomplished as long as I am in an environment with fewer distractions, when it is time to generate reports. My job is a very fast paced environment and you have to be computer literate or you will feel lost and not pick up on all the information that is needed. We also encourage all new employees to complete training in the first ninety days, so that we can all be on the same page. I am now finding myself asking, “What is your learning type”. This will help me to assist them in what can make it easier for them. A lot of the materials for training are videos, quizzes, and multiple choices. Now that I have had this class, I can now pass on what I have learned to someone else that may not know. The strategies that are applied will help me to be successful and keep me motivated to earn my Bachelor’s Degree. I am
