As a reminder there are three main types of learners: Auditory, Visual and Kinesthetic. I think that being an auditory learner is probably one of the learning styles I use a lot but I do not think that it is my overall best learning style because I feel that I am more of a hands on type of learner. Being a good listener and absorbing information are great skills to have when in a learning setting so that you can retain the most information as possible. According to The Vark learning styles questionnaire the two learning styles that I learn best with best are aural and kinesthetic. Aural means I learn best when hearing the information spoken and by asking questions about the concept I am learning. The other way I learn best is being kinesthetic which means I use my five senses and hands on experiences to help me learn. The Aural side of me likes to remember stories, examples, and jokes, to be to relate them to the concept I am learning. I have found that I when attended class and really focus on what the instructor or professor is teaching I am able to grasp the concept that is being taught.…

In today's society learning styles are a lot more prevalent and held with a higher level of importance in all aspects of learning; as people have recognised everyone is different and have their own unique way of completing tasks. The two learning styles I will critically compare and evaluate whilst applying it to studying business are: The VAK learning style(Visual, Auditory and kinesthetic) by Nick Fleming and Honey and Mumford learning style based on the work of Kolb. VAK The VAK method is arguably the most used test to find out which learning style suits an individual best. Personally I have taken this test and I came out as a visual learner. I have found this beneficial when applied to business studies especially when revising for exams.…

How can learning strategies help struggling students I think my topic is important because society should care about the future. Not only is my topic very effective for our youth but however it is also effective for our elders, these different learning strategies could really help them out with the struggle of them helping their children or even grandchildren trying to help them with their homework or at home projects. However coming up with different strategies could also be a big help for the students trying to actually learn in school but somehow are distracted or just don’t understand the material the teacher is providing.…

My research views the different aspects of our thought process and how that correlates with our cognitive abilities to interpret and implement solutions in a strategic manner. Strategy is three-dimensional that is composed of the process, content and context, (Wit, & Meyer, 2010). Each dimension identifies different elements of strategy providing a circular structure that flows in a synergistic manner. Strategy process defines the who, where and when aspect of strategy which provides a platform for interlinking the content and context, (Wit, & Meyer, 2010). Content is noted as the defining element of the process and context establishes the meaning behind the strategy, (Wit, & Meyer, 2010).…

Description of an Intrinsically Motivated Learner Ryan and Deci (2000) define intrinsic motivation “as the doing of an activity for its inherent satisfactions rather than for some separable consequence” (p. 56). They point out that intrinsic motivation does not depend on external influences such as rewards or punishments in order to initiate a task (Ryan and Deci, 2000). Possessing an innate passion for learning, an intrinsically motivated learner does so simply for the resulting gratification. Intrinsic motivation and UoPeople.
