According to Saul McLeod (2011, updated 2016) Albert Bandura supported the behaviorist theory however, he included the mediating processes that occurs between the stimuli and responses and that behavior is learnt through observational learning. Bandura believes that people are information processors and therefore, thinks about the relationship between the behavior and its consequences. This approach asserts that people are influenced by significant others in their life. For example, a person may look up to a parent and want to be like that parent based on what he observed. That parent can be a doctor or a drug dealer. The child may believe that power is important and money is an important factor in having power; this may be inferred by the lifestyle of his “drug dealer” parent and the way people treat this parent or how the parent treat people.
