When I originally signed up for english, I was worried that failure was imminent in the course. I never liked writing due to the fact that I always thought I was either behind on standard english writing habits or what I wrote was wrong in some sense. However, the more involved the class became the more I learned that I loved writing on any real topic. The assignments help me discover that I am not behind at all and that nothing that you write about is wrong in any sense. The class helped me over come writers block.

The assignments were all unique and fun to finish. However, all the assignment had some sort of challenge. The biggest and most common challenge with the assignments would be overcoming writers block. Most of the assignments took me over four hours due to the

However, each aspect helped me develop my best outline to finish paper. I always started by listening to up beat music that I love to sing and I would get my energy built up. After I am done listening to music I really just started typing until I found something that stuck out to me. Once I found that special something, I would just try to build the paper around it. However, the process didn't always work out through. An example would be trying to start literary analysis. I could find anything that really stuck out to me due to the fact that I wasn't really going on my own ideas but off of someones else’s. All in all, each paper had it unique twist but it helped me to find something that ran common with my own life.

This course had its up and downs. I dreaded when pre writing assignments were due because I don't like sharing personal information with stranger. However, the more I got use to the pre writes and peer feedback I began to appreciate them. Near the end, I wasn't nervous to post my any of my work because I knew in the long run all the comments were there to help improve my work not to criticize me as a

I'll admit it; I have a man crush on Shani Raja. There isn't anyone out there who'll sit down at their desk, point a camera at themselves, look directly at you through the digital medium and tell you what good writing is, what isn't, and how editors turn hum-drum writing into an excellent read. Shani does just that in 'Writing With Flair 2.0: How To Become An Exceptional Writer'. The course is a true behind the scenes look at how exceptional writing is crafted, edited and polished. And best of all; he teaches you how to do it yourself in a clear, concise, and informative way.…

I enrolled in Teaching Writing and Grammar because I wanted to become a better writer. I knew that to bring my writing to the next level I needed confidence in writing conventions. I wanted to experience a writing class where my work would receive assessment and feedback based not only on content, but also on structure and grammar. Throughout the duration of this course there have been many writing assignments and all of them have presented their own set of challenges and they have all improved myself as a writer and as a thinker. Some did this more than others such as the Quest I: Summary and Analysis and the Quest II: SASE Report, both of these assignments pushed me to think of different things outside the comfort zone I was used to. The fact that both of these assignments had me to write an analysis of different articles made me think about these articles in a different way to try and figure out what the authors where trying to convey to me. Then having to write my thoughts down clearly challenged me to become a better writer because putting my thoughts on paper in a clear manner has always been a struggle for me. For the most part I feel as if I overcome and accomplished this goal in a very successful manner.…

When I decided to return back to school, math and English requirements were my biggest worries, however taking this course has helped me improve my writing skills and also given me more confidence in my writing. For example, reviewing grammar rules such as when it is appropriate to use “an” and “a” has helped me tremendously due to being out of school for decades. Reviewing the instructor’s feedback and finding out what errors I made is great, it helps me to understand and correct my mistakes for future references. I have also been able to gain confidence that I did not have prior to this course, now I am no longer intimidated to write a paragraph or even several paragraphs. The teacher welcomes me with his normal, accented hello as I sit down and he starts discussing about correct MLA format. My mind begins to get distracted and my thoughts take over, causing me to dose off. I start to gaze at the other students in my class…

Throughout this course, writing took more than just writing about what you read. Here I learned to process all the information that needs to be processed and come up with some way to get it out on paper. With writing I have learned that vocabulary and grammar are two very affective sides to it. With grammar I have learned when to end a sentence. Working on grammar for my writing also allowed me to learn, when the time came for me to use punctuation and extend the sentence.…

From the start of the semester with this class until now, I have improved exponentially. At the beginning of the semester, I took an English pre-grammar test, and the purpose of that exercise was to gauge how much, and what knowledge I had. Over all from the exam I performed horribly. Even before Comp 1 in college I was terrible with anything grammar related. I know grammar is a broad spectrum, but I really had to improve on everything.…
