Growing up in a country with a limited amount of opportunities, my parents wanted me to have a better life, with a brighter future. That’s why they took the decision to leave it all behind , in Cuba and come here. Ever since then, I have always been told, you need to study in order to succeed in life. It was hard, I admit it ,but it was not impossible. Learning a new language, wasn’t what I hoped it would be; but now I am proud to say that know I can speak 3 languages English, Spanish , and French; I‘m also planning to learn Korean somehow. For me it was all worth it, and I would do it again if I had to. Because, I was able to learn from my experiences, and I was able to appreciate things , as well as see the in a different light. My parents encouraged me to be a better person, so that in the future I could be able to support myself , not having to depend on nobody. One of the main reasons, why I decided to go to college is ,because of my parents. I did not only want to better myself, but I wanted to accomplish my dream of becoming a pediatrician. As well as, being the first one in my family to go to college in the U.S. When wee first arrived in the U.S in 2005, we were lost, and scared because of all the things we’d see, and here. My parents had to face many hardships; due to the fact that they didn’t speak the language. I didn’t really understand what they had to go through, because I was so young at the time.
