Every Spring break I attend Big Creek, and venture to Bear Branch, Kentucky, one of the poorest parts of the United States. I offer my service and produce hope and smiles to the residents living in that area. However, at the mission trip, I visited an elderly home where many of the residents had given their service to the United States during the Vietnam and WWII war. While visiting, I had the opportunity of giving my respects to those who served. Showing respect means that you humble yourself to recognize their abilities, achievements, as well as admiring them. While talking to the elderly people who served in the wars, I had an idea of displaying my thankfulness and respect I have for them. I planned a “party” in which to express gratitude to them. Many members of the elderly home who volunteer, as well as members of the mission trip assisted me in planning and making the “party” work. In the end, many members of the mission trip and I, had given our gratitude and respect by individually recognizing their accomplishments and honoring them. Respect creates discipline, unselfishness, as well as the ability of being able to humble yourself. Without respect one couldn’t become “internationally
