As the society and the education system improves, people might believes that more students are willing to get a college degree since they have a both better financial support and condition of learning; however, the fact is totally opposite from the expectation: More students start to consider today’s College as not necessary and don’t even worth the cost. What makes the difference between expectation and reality so huge? In today’s society, more college students are into debt, and more news about successful people, who are only high-school-educated, appears. “Americans with four-year college degrees made 98 percent more an hour on average in 2013 than people without a degree.”(Leonhardt). This fact strongly supports its claim that college is worth it because it definitely can give you a better job than Uneducated people. You also can pay back the student loans quicker and earn much more in long term. College pays for itself. Nevertheless, Some people might disagree with this idea. “There’s a statistic we cite in the book that by the year 2018 there will be 14 million jobs available, well-paying jobs, which will require more than a high school diploma but less than a college diploma.”(Berger). They believe that People don’t need a college degree for a well-paying job, college is not necessary, and there are many available jobs in the future which don’t need a college degree; thus, people shouldn’t worry about don’t have a job. But those people’s argument is not powerful enough to against the fact. “People with bachelor’s degrees make around 0,000 more over their lifetimes than those with just a high school education, according to a new analysis by Jaison R. This graph clearly showed the evidence that people with no degree or less than college education’s unemployment rate are higher than the average unemployment rate. Bachelor’s degree and higher degrees have high wages which are higher than average earnings; in addition, the graph shows that the claim of Blake is wrong. In fact, There are fewer people without jobs who went to college than those who did not.
A college degree can give you a higher chance of finding jobs and raise the quality of the jobs range for you.
