Learn: Co-Learning Case Study

In the fall of 2015, Flatiron School launched a public learning management system for remote students. Learn.co is an open source collaborative learning platform first used by immersive students in the fall of 2014. At the time, it had one simple social interaction: “Asking a Question”. In the start of 2016, social activities on Learn expanded to full chat, a slack like, chat experience offering multiple rooms, study groups, direct message, to help bring remote students together.

The breadth of work on Learn.co span over 2.5 years, the iterative process helped shaped this product to become a Co-learning platform. This case study focus on social and community building
