Lean on me is about a highly qualified teacher with an independent leadership style, who returns to restore order back to troublesome high school Eastside High School. He is tasked with the overwhelming job of banishing the school from drug dealers, gang violence and a host of other complications, which include; drug use, bullying, teen pregnancy and accountability for teaching and grades.
Mr. Clark has the teachers compile a list of 300 ruffians and expels them from school. Mr. Clark see this bold move as the only way regain control of the students and give them safety and security. On top of the entire internal shift of leadership Mr. Clark must improve a mandatory assessment score for Eastside High school. Clark has a special connection with all the students he makes his purpose to instill a sense of pride in the students. For example he make them sing the school song at a drop of a dime. Eastside high school goes under a major transformation from the look of the school to the teachers and students. Along the way Mr. Clark is faced with some backlash from the students parents who have been kicked out. Mr. Clark also faced with school officials playing both side of the fence promising one thing and doing another. Mr. Clark takes it upon himself to ensure the safety of this students and staff and subsequently breaks some safety laws by changing and locking all the exit doors. Mr. Clark is arrested and all the students rally together outside of the jail to support Mr. Clark. With news of a passing score on the assessments quiz and calming down of the crowd it has been obvious of the impact that Mr. Clark has had on Eastside
