I hope you are doing well and enjoying the school year wrapping up. Our reading this week was about shaping culture and values and leading change. The readings were quite interesting and applicable towards the high school setting. In this letter, I will examine the ideas presented and discuss some applicable takeaways. Creating the right culture is the main job of the leader, often times the teacher of a classroom. The culture, the norms, values, taught to new members are critical as they become socialized into the setting. A strong culture has a positive impact on the class.
