Leadership comprises scientific and artistic fundamentals characterized by six imperative qualities. The scientific qualities of leadership focus on the process and tasks associated with evaluating, planning, decision making, and training. “The artistry of leadership is embodied in processes and tasks associated with relationship building, communicating, persuading, coaching, and evaluating or establishing context (G. R. Ledlow, M. N. Coppola, p. 11).”

The specific goal statement I would apply to my health care organization is to reduce their deficiencies in ½ by the next state evaluation. The measure of success I would utilize would be that for example if our organization had ten deficiencies this year the next year’s specific goal would be to have 5 or fewer deficiencies in the following years inspection. The reason this goal is important to me is patient-centered care is vital to the health care organizations reputation and could have a positive or negative influence on how third party payers reimburse our facility. I would pay for performance, and I would base that payment on the employee 's performance. An above-standard of compensation reward based on an employees yearly independent review regarding individual performance would invest the employees in the overall success of the health care organization giving them the ability for bonus compensation. By demonstrating a personal connection to each employee 's success, I will further the individual relationships with my staff and that will increase their personal investment in the mission and vision of the health care
