As the most important human capital of a company, leaders and managers are critical in delivering company’s message, assigning work and motivate employees. Effective leadership is essential to an organization’s success. There are many factors can influence a manager’s leadership style and method. It can be determined by the leaders personality, education and education. It is also can be determined by the characteristics of the pemployee who is being lead. Among all the leadership theories, Situational Leadership Theory (SLT) has been identified as the most effective leadership theory recently. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to identify why situational leadership theory is relevant in developing effective leadership culture by compare with other theories, and analyze the pros and cons of three most popular SLT models. There are many different leadership theories that have been identified by scholars. Bhatti, Maitlo and Shaikh (2012) mentioned “autocratic, democratic and Laissez-Faire leadership style”. Autocratic leaders depend on their authority and their power. It can be effective when comes down to the situation that a quick policy or decision need to be made, but it demotivate employees, as this leadership style do not grant enough personal rights and freedom to group members (Kelley, 2015).
