Leadership Theories In Health Care

Healthcare systems are unique in that they are composed of numerous professional groups, departments, and specialties with multidirectional goals and multidisciplinary staff (Al-Sawai, A. 2013). With such a an array of professionals and staff, it can be difficult to apply one type of leadership style. Therefore, it's important for healthcare professionals to be familiar with the various leadership theories that are discussed in the article and determine which leadership style best reflects their own values.

There are many factors such as health care reform, healthcare costs, advances in health care technology, and a growing and aging patient population,that drive ongoing changes in healthcare. Hospital administrators, medical providers, ancillary
