Answer the following questions to gauge your Emotional Intelligence: 1. I am sincerely interested in learning about others. True False N/A 2. I have strong work ethic and ambitious talent. I deeply care about others and take the time to notice when True False N/A another person needs help. Answering true to each of the questions is an indication of strong Emotional Intelligence. While this short quiz arbitrarily skims the surface of understanding personal EQ, it provides an open door to look within one’s self concerning his/her capacity for Emotional Intelligence.
Learning about Others This specific aspect of EQ is important for individuals of leadership to develop if he/she does not have a natural ability for learning about new people—yes, even strangers! Learning about others and having a sincere interest them is one of the best ways to cultivate empathy (Gregoire, 2013). Empathy, in turn, allows an individual to successfully connect with another person on a deeper level which builds lasting rapport.
Having a Strong Work Ethic
Having a strong, self-motivated work ethic and a talent to achieve goals efficiently, generally displays a higher degree of EQ in an individual. Goleman found through his research that almost 90 percent
